DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDespite an ongoing petition and letters from city officials requesting an extension of public comment and a public hearing on the Project Maize air permit for backup diesel generators\, IDEM has failed our community yet again and scheduled a public meeting for December 9th. \nA pubic meeting\, unlike a hearing\, does not admit our comments into the public record. Even though the air permit is over 100 pages long and difficult to understand\, IDEM has refused to extend our comment period. This is an egregious dismissal of our right to understand and comment on a permit that will affect the air quality of an already impacted community. \nWe will not let them ignore us! We need to pack the house for this public meeting and provide written comments that must be entered into the public record.
